Two simple methods to determine your Birth and Soul Card

Temperance: Tarot de Marseille

Determining your Birth Card and your Soul Card

One of the most exciting readings in Tarot is determining the querent’s Birth and Soul card (Soul card is also often known as the Shadow or Personality card) The Birth card can determine the individual aspects and characteristics of the querent. As you would use your date of birth to ascertain your Astrology sign, so too can you determine your own unique Tarot card. This card can assist you in gaining a deeper understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, thereby giving an accurate means to determine your true potential, as the Tarot will reveal where you are in your journey.

Here are two simple methods to help you determine your Birth and Soul Cards:

The Hermit: Tarot de Marseille

As I am born on 13 May 1971, the first method to calculate my cards would be as follows:

1+3+5+1+9+7+1 = 2 + 7 = 9 Thereby my Birth and Soul card would be the Hermit. That is possibly why I choose to live in a tiny village, pretty much in the middle of nowhere!

If the date is reduced to a number between 10 and 22 – this would then be your Soul card, and when reduced to a single digit, that will be your Birth Card.

Another interesting means of Determining your Soul card, if like mine, simple reduction doesn’t grant you one… there is another way!

The Moon: Thoth Deck

Using my date of birth again:

13 + 5 + 19 + 71 = 108. 10 + 8 = 18 The Moon is then my Soul Card (Explaining my passion of Tarot)

1 + 8 = 9 The Hermit accurately remains my Birth Card!

Having determined your cards, study the cards in detail and ask them to reveal the answers you yearn for with regards to yourself. Find the connections and relationship between the cards, and discover underlying aspects of yourself.
