Halloween, Christian or Horror?

Halloween, Christian or Horror?

As we are approaching Halloween, I find many mixed emotions which people have toward this crazy festival.  The endless myths of Halloween are pretty startling, "devils wedding", whereby so many 'christians' once again donate something to their 'devil', or 'Candy Company Christmas'.
Halloween also known as 'All Hallows' Evening, or All Hallows' Eve, derives from the eve of a Christian feast of All Hallows Day, better known as All Saints day.  Being a solemnity, or the highest-ranking feast day of the Roman Rite, which celebrates the mystery of faith, including the Holy Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Beatific vision is the ultimate direct self-communication of God to an individual person, thereby granting such a person membership in the communion of saints, and thereby the perfection of salvation in Eternal life.  Thus in Western Christian Theology, All souls day is held in honor of the memory of those who have successfully attained beatific vision.

Anglican and Catholic churches celebrate the following day after All Hallows Eve, to honor the dearly departed who have not reached the standard of spiritual purification as expressed by the Church. All Saints day is therefore a spiritual bond between those in purgatory, which many interpret as 'Church suffering', heaven that is interpreted as 'Church triumphant', and we that still roam the earth in this realm as we know it, or referred to as 'Church militant.  Over the years, various churches have become more tolerant, and thereby accept all Christians as saints, thereby honoring all the departed.
In the Eastern Christians of Byzantine Tradition, all saints are celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost, 16 December.  During the reign of Byzantine Emperor, Leo VI, (886-911) affectionately known as 'The Wise', his wife, Empress Theophano passed in 893.  The Emperor then built a church to commemorate his wife, but was denied the opportunity.  The Emperor then dedicated the church to 'All Saints; thus honoring his wife.  Thereby it seems that the Emperor welcomed All Saints into this commemoration instead of 'All Martyrs'.
